Maintenance of public footpaths

Maintenance of public footpaths in Aldingbourne Parish is carried out by West Sussex County Council, in particular, the cutting back of overgrowth is performed every summer, usually once but in some cases twice.

In addition, the Parish Council inspects the paths from time to time and performs interim cutting back to keep paths passable. Use of weedkillers is discouraged as this is potentially dangerous. It is harmful to wildlife as it destroys hedgerow habitats.

If you wish to report a problem you can contact WSCC via this link: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/land-waste-and-housing/public-paths-and-the-countryside/public-rights-of-way/report-a-problem-with-a-right-of-way/#report-a-problem

Alternatively, for a more immediate response, contact the Parish Council on 07523 243068 or email: clerk@aldingbourne-pc.gov.uk and your query will usually be dealt with within 24 hours.
