The Parish Council was very pleased to note last month that Arun District Council had turned down the application for the layout and appearance of the houses and flats due to be built at the rear of Meadow Way. Sadly, the principle of building 89 homes on the site, which we had strongly opposed, was agreed by a Government Planning Inspector last December, and Arun cannot reverse this – but following the refusal of the detailed plans, the developers will now have to go back to the drawing board with their proposals for the site. We were pleased to note that in their refusal, Arun shared the Parish Council’s significant concerns about the new proposal for flats on the site, about serious drainage issues and about lighting.
