Aldingbourne Community Litter Pick Thanks

On the morning of the Litter Pick, it seemed the weather was going to “rain on our parade” but it cleared up and turned into a beautiful afternoon. The pickers, our residents, turned up at the ACSC Hall, numbering some 20 with several children assisting, seen in the first photos getting ready for the trip out into the streets. Five of the Parish Councillors joined in the litter picking, whilst the Chairman set up refreshments for everyone on their return.

As you can see from the number of bags they collected, a great amount of litter is discarded rather wantonly around the Parish.

Councillor Michelle Harbord, has been organizing this event for some time and it is always well attended and this time it was agreed to reward our pickers with a nice warming cup of tea/coffee with some cake on their return.

It was also an opportunity for residents to meet and talk with some of their Councillors and to put names to faces. Hopefully, there will be other events/activities arranged, that will enable the Community to not only engage with the Parish Councillors, but to volunteer in other ways and to have a voice in what the Council does for the Community.

Our thanks to all those who took part.
