New look for Littlehampton seafront as The West Green is unveiled

The West Green on Littlehampton seafront is now open, offering a vibrant space for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Led by Arun District Council and backed by £7.23 million in UK Government funding, the project brings exciting new features including a children’s water play area, climbing wall, and courts for beach volleyball, basketball, and pétanque – with hammocks for relaxing!

Four local businesses – Bentleys Café, Jim’s Ice Cream, Soul Kitchen & Bar, and Board Café – run the new food kiosks. Upgraded facilities also include accessible toilets with Changing Places, beach showers, improved pathways, and plenty of seating.

So, if you haven’t visited yet, come and see what all the fuss is about!

Crimestoppers launches campaign to improve community safety

The independent charity Crimestoppers has launched a targeted initiative throughout Arun District, specifically aimed at reducing crime and improving community safety.

This campaign is designed to amplify awareness of Crimestoppers’ 100% anonymous reporting service. This activity is hoped to empower Arun residents to anonymously share vital information about a range of criminal activities, including drug dealing, violent crime, criminal gangs, anti-social behaviour (ASB), domestic abuse, drink and drug driving.

Crimestoppers will be working with young people through Fearless, the charity’s youth service, providing training at local secondary schools and colleges.
