From Monday 18 May to Friday 28 August, SGN contractors, I&G Contractors Limited, will be replacing the gas main along Nyetimber Lane, Bognor Regis. These works are essential to ensure we can continue to maintain a safe and efficient gas supply and avoid gas leaks in the future.

Our engineers will be replacing the gas pipe from the junction of Carlton Avenue to the junction of Grosvenor Gardens. Due to the location of the pipe in the road, we will need to have a rolling road closure in place between these junctions as we work along the road.  We will also need to close side roads as we pass; side closures are indicated in red on the map below.  

This rolling road closure will mean:

• No through vehicle access along Nyetimber Lane past the closure in either direction
• Vehicle access to properties within the closure will be maintained – access arrangements will change as works progress and the closure moves along the road. Our site team will keep those residents affected informed of access arrangements and signage will be in place for wider road users
• Bus routes will be affected – we’d advise road users to contact their service provider for the latest update/changes to service
• Bin collection days will remain unchanged unless you hear otherwise by your service provider

Our engineers will also need to complete service connections to properties, to do this they will need access to properties with gas supplies; they will need to temporarily interrupt your properties supply to complete the connection and safety checks. All properties affected can expect to receive further information about this work, the site team will liaise directly with residents regarding access arrangements. No gas supplies will be interrupted without advance notice.
